The communication exercise will consist of our standard presentation with the Tactical Communications Bridge portable equipment and performing some cross patching between dissimilar radio equipment. The equipment can be used in the field to bridge portable and mobile radio equipment together in a short range tactical capacity.

New this year we will be presenting the information on the Regional Microwave Communications Project otherwise known as SECOMNET which bridges the 11 county 3 state region together allowing Police and Fire 911 centers as well as county Emergency Operations Centers to communicate on a day to day basis as well as for a large scale regional disaster where mutual aid coordination is required. This enables regional Communications Centers to communicate across county boundaries and outside their normal radio systems operating area even if neighboring county radio systems are dissimilar technology. This project is the strategic solution to interoperable communications in the region today and for use far into the future. The system uses the latest Voice Over Internet Protocol technologies to accomplish the goal of region-wide interoperable communications.
